McLaren Newport Beach opened a brand-new state-of-the-art McLaren retail and service facility at a gala event on Wednesday, June 21st in the heart of McLaren’s biggest global sales market. On hand to perform the grand opening were McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer, Michael Leiters and President of McLaren, The Americas, Nicolas Brown.
The Newport Beach dealership was one of the original ten founding retailers that started selling the McLaren MP4 12C when the supercar manufacturer first entered the Americas market back in 2011. Since then, the award-winning business has gone on to retail nearly 750 new McLarens making it one of the most successful dealerships for the McLaren brand globally.
It is also one of a handful of dealers in the McLaren Motorsport Retailer Network, which allows customers the opportunity to participate in the brand’s 60-years of racing heritage, offering both technical support and guidance on how to get involved in motorsports on all levels.
McLaren Newport Beach also has a history of creating unique and iconic cars for its clients via McLaren Special Operations (MSO) bespoke customer programs, including a multi-million dollar ‘one of one’ Hermes edition McLaren Speedtail and the MSO X, a ten-car customer driven commission that created a completely road-legal GT4 race car based off the 570S GT4.
With the move from the original facility on the Pacific Coast Highway to the new facility located at 44 Auto Center Dr, Irvine, CA 92618 – right in the heart of Southern California’s luxury car market – McLaren Newport Beach has almost doubled its retail showroom footprint to 6,000 square feet, featuring a stunning new façade incorporating McLaren’s current brand identity.
Additionally, they have invested in expanding the facilities and service workshop to incorporate a total of ten service bays and increased the number of technicians four-fold. In total the two-year project represented a multi-million-dollar investment by the retailer.
Joining McLaren CEO, Michael Leiters, Americas President Nicolas Brown, and McLaren Newport Beach Dealer Principal, Pietro Frigerio at the grand opening were more than 250 McLaren customers and guests who were among the first in the world to see the new McLaren 750S in person.
As the lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren, the 750S defines a new benchmark for supercar performance and driver exhilaration. Faster, lighter and with more power and torque than its predecessor, the new V8-engined, rear-wheel drive 750S – which is available in coupe and Spider form – is unashamedly a supercar for the purist.
“We are delighted to open this new facility in the Newport Beach area to serve our strong base of McLaren customers in the region. We have been with the McLaren brand since ‘day one’ and our team is passionate about the cars and dedicated to ensuring that every customer who walks through our doors receives a world-class experience.”
Pietro Frigerio, Dealer Principal, McLaren Newport Beach
“McLaren is a brand on the rise in this market. With the launch of the exciting new 750S and recent introduction of the all-new McLaren Artura high-performance hybrid supercar, we see great potential for further growth and expansion among enthusiasts in Southern California – truly one of our most important global markets.”
Michael Leiters, CEO, McLaren Automotive
“This investment by McLaren Newport Beach represents the confidence the retail network has in the McLaren brand and in our future in this key market. With only 11 years behind us, we have made massive strides in our ability to deliver world class sales and customer service to our ‘McLaren family’ in the Americas.
“It also comes shortly after the opening of our brand-new McLaren Americas HQ in Dallas, which gives us the ability to serve our network with enhanced technical support and training facilities and precedes several other retailers who plan to open new or significantly upgraded retail points in the next 12 months.”
Nicolas Brown, President, McLaren, the Americas
