McLaren, the Americas debuted a custom wrapped McLaren GT at the city of Coppell’s Kaleidoscope: A Celebration of Art and Culture event on October 8th. The festival of art, culture and music was the perfect venue to showcase the McLaren GT to the city of Coppell, Texas – home to McLaren, the Americas’ headquarters.  Kaleidoscope drew in an enthusiastic crowd of over 1,000 attendees and the wrapped McLaren GT was a star of the show.

In the weeks leading up to the event, members of the Coppell community were given the opportunity to submit artwork as part of a contest, with the winning design brought to life on the McLaren GT. The winning concept drew inspiration from the event name—Kaleidoscope—and  featured a variety of colors blending into one another.

“What an honor to be chosen! I was inspired by the burst of color on the Kaleidoscope logo…the bright colors illicit a sense of joy and warmth, while each individual color seems to flow seamlessly into the other. It’s is a great reflection of this diverse, yet unified community we call home, and it came together beautifully.” – Maheshika Ratnayake, winner of the Kaleidoscope GT wrap contest

Always a showstopper, the McLaren GT provides the exhilarating performance and dynamic excellence expected in a McLaren supercar, blended with unmatched usability and refinement. Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 612bph and 465 lb-ft of torque. Adaptive damping with McLaren Proactive Damping Control maximizes ride quality and refinement without compromising precise handling characteristics, while McLaren’s signature electro-hydraulic steering and carbon ceramic brakes ensure dynamic excellence that is optimized for everyday, lower-speed use. The MonoCell II-T carbon fibre chassis underpins supercar responsiveness and engagement, while also allowing for substantial cockpit space and luggage flexibility – a must in a GT.
