Bonhams is to offer a collection of eight highly important Rolls-Royce motor cars at the Goodwood Revival Sale on 8 September. The collection includes several cars used by the Royal Household including HM The Queen and HRH Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Heritage Fleet is a significant collection of coach-built motor cars that was manufactured at Crewe and includes some of the most significant motor cars produced by the factory, including last-of-the-line examples and bespoke landmark editions.

One of only 18 built and provided to HM The Queen in 1959, the star of the collection is the 1950 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV State Landaulette with coachwork by Hooper & Co. It was built in celebration of Rolls-Royce’s Golden Jubilee and was used by the Royal Household for 40 years including many overseas tours. It is estimated at £1,000,000-2,000,000. It is identical to the model in which Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was driven to Windsor Castle on her wedding day, highlighting the significant role that Rolls-Royce motor cars have always played to the British royal family.

The 1960 Rolls-Royce Phantom V ‘High Roof’ State Limousine with coachwork by Park Ward is another imperious motor car offered in the collection. It was used by HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh for State occasions and is currently on view on the Royal Yacht Britannia. It is estimated at £1,000,000-1,500,000.
