Xtreme Xperience has an interesting business model: exchange a few dollars for a couple of laps behind the wheel of today’s latest supercars. The cost of getting on track with almost any car normally requires “cubic dollars” before one even rolls the car off of the trailer, let alone the cost of consumables. Tracking a super car? Hopefully you have budgeted for running costs that can equal the cost of a new economy car. Therein lies the appeal of “Supercar Driving Experiences:” a few hundred dollars will allow you to drive like an heir to the Rockefeller fortune, even if only for a brief moment.
Team Principal Jeff Francis was recently afforded the opportunity to travel to the high desert of Southern California in order to participate at an “Xtreme Xperience” supercar event at the 1.6-mile Streets of Willow course. The sessions include an instructor riding along. Instructors and crew alike were consummate professionals, and truly put forth the effort to ensure that their customers received the most for their time and money.
The car selection represented some of the best supercars currently on the market. This particular weekend included a Ferrari 458 Italia, the new Lamborghini Huracán LP610-3, McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560, Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 GT3 (997.1), and Nissan GTR. With this sort of variety, Francis found it difficult to narrow down his choices to three specific cars. He eventually settles upon the McLaren, Gallardo, and 458. Unfortunately, the McLaren was experiencing mechanical issues, and Francis instead “settled” for the Huracán.
Being that one’s affinity toward a particular’s car is a strictly subjective manner, we will refrain from commentary in regards to how the three compared. The best information can only be gained through comparing them on your own, and Xtreme Xperience offers a spectacular way to experience the best Europe has to offer. The drive will provide you not only with hours of conversation, but a fleeting glimpse into the world of a Road and Track editor.
Xtreme Xperience provides those with the passion (but not the budget) for supercars to truly live out their supercar dreams. For the more well-heeled enthusiast, it is an easy way to quickly compare various models and their on-track prowess.
For the casual track-day enthusiast, there is no better way to experience the car of their dreams. A few hundred dollars can provide you with memories to last a lifetime. No matter what your position might be in the world of autos, Xtreme Xperience provides a great value that we at The Speed Journal highly recommend.
The Driver’s Series scours the world to find and explore compelling driving experiences for anyone with a driver’s license and passion for speed. We send our resident driver Jeff Francis to get behind the wheel and report back to Speed Journal readers to ride along virtually or become inspired to take on the driving experiences themselves. Are you involved with a driving experience that should be featured on The Speed Journal? Do you have a driving experience suggestion for The Speed Journal to investigate? Please contact us.
