Aurora Tur and Agil showcase the evolution of Zenvo’s V12 hybrid hypercar

Zenvo Automotive will return to Monterey Car Week with the most complete U.S. presentation yet of its Aurora program. Aurora Tur validation prototypes VP5 and VP2 will appear alongside the more circuit-focused Aurora Agil, giving customers and enthusiasts a direct view of both branches of the clean-sheet platform as development advances toward production.

Monterey is a natural stage for the next chapter. Zenvo introduced Aurora there in 2023. Three years later, the story is no longer confined to design intent. VP5 brings the road-focused Tur closer to customer specification, VP2 arrives as a running validation car already demonstrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and Agil provides a distinctly sharper interpretation centered on lower weight and active aerodynamics.

Zenvo plans to base its week around Zenvo House in Carmel Valley, hosting customer appointments, retailer meetings and media briefings while participating in selected Car Week activities, including Exotics on Broadway. The more important message, however, is the maturity of the program: visitors will see hardware that is testing, driving and converging on production form.

AURORA TUR VP5: PRODUCTION-INTENT GRAND TOURING

VP5 is the latest expression of the Aurora Tur, named for the Danish word for journey. That name frames the brief. The car must deliver the performance expected at the top of the hypercar field while remaining comfortable, intuitive and engaging over distance. Its bodywork is tightly wrapped around an exposed carbon-composite structure, with deep channels and integrated aerodynamic surfaces rather than visual elements added purely for effect.

The cabin advances the same idea. Visible carbon fiber establishes the structural character, but the seating, outward visibility and control layout are intended to make the Tur usable beyond a short, intense drive. Zenvo is positioning it not simply as the more comfortable Aurora, but as an extreme-performance machine capable of combining long-distance refinement with direct mechanical involvement.

At the center of both Aurora derivatives is the bespoke 6.6-liter Mjolner V12 developed with MAHLE Powertrain. The quad-turbocharged engine is engineered to produce 1,250 bhp from combustion alone and rev to 9,800 rpm. In Tur specification, three electric motors raise estimated combined output to 1,850 bhp and 1,700 Nm of torque, delivered through a hybridized eight-speed paddle-shift transmission.

Two of those electric motors operate at the front axle, providing all-wheel drive and torque vectoring. Zenvo estimates a top speed of 420 km/h, or 260 mph, while targeting a curb weight of 1,548 kilograms. Those figures place the Tur among the most ambitious road cars in development, but the underlying architecture is equally important to the character Zenvo is pursuing.

Aurora uses Zenvo’s ZM1 carbon-composite monocoque with carbon front and rear structures, pushrod-operated double-wishbone suspension and extensive integration of the body, cooling and aerodynamic systems. The engineering is deliberately visible rather than concealed. Even so, the Tur’s cleaner body surfaces, cabin design and road-oriented calibration make clear that outright speed is only part of its purpose.

AURORA TUR VP2: PROVING THE HARDWARE

VP2 brings another dimension to the Monterey presentation: evidence of development in motion. The validation prototype completed public demonstration runs at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, giving audiences an early opportunity to hear and see the V12 hybrid system operating under load.

A running validation car has a different role from a static show car. VP2 is being used to integrate the engine, electric motors, transmission, chassis, braking systems and vehicle-control software as a complete package. Its Goodwood appearance demonstrated that the program has moved into the detailed phase where individual systems must work together repeatedly and predictably.

The Tur’s aerodynamic approach is also easier to understand in motion. It avoids the towering fixed wing associated with many track-led hypercars, relying heavily on integrated underbody management while preserving the stability, visibility and road manners expected of a grand-touring interpretation. The result is a low, wide shape that remains comparatively clean without disguising the amount of airflow management taking place around and beneath it.

Bringing both VP5 and VP2 to Monterey gives prospective owners two complementary views of the same development program. VP5 communicates the intended exterior and cabin specification. VP2 provides mechanical credibility as a prototype already exercised in public. Together, they make a stronger case for the Tur than either car could make alone.

AURORA AGIL: THE TRACK-FOCUSED COUNTERPOINT

Aurora Agil translates the same clean-sheet foundation into a lighter, more aerodynamically aggressive road-legal track car. Where Tur is intended to balance speed with long-distance capability, Agil gives priority to braking, cornering response and repeatable circuit performance.

The active aerodynamic package combines the front and rear underbody systems with a prominent rear wing that also functions as an air brake. Zenvo states that the car can generate approximately 800 kilograms of downforce at 250 km/h. Magnesium center-lock wheels, track-oriented tire options and Agil-specific suspension calibration support the same purpose.

Zenvo estimates combined output at 1,450 bhp and curb weight at 1,360 kilograms, making Agil 188 kilograms lighter than Tur. Top speed is electronically limited to 360 km/h, or 224 mph, because the aerodynamic priorities are centered on stability and cornering rather than the highest possible terminal velocity.

The difference between Tur and Agil is more substantial than a conventional road-and-track option package. Each derivative has its own character, bodywork and performance priorities, yet both retain the central elements that define Aurora: the high-revving Mjolner V12, carbon-composite architecture and an emphasis on driver involvement.

A MONTEREY CHECKPOINT ON THE ROAD TO 2027

Aurora will be designed, engineered and hand-assembled in Praesto, Denmark. Zenvo plans to produce 50 examples of the Tur and 50 of the Agil, with pricing beginning at approximately EUR 2.8 million and first customer deliveries targeted for the second half of 2027.

The headline figures will inevitably attract attention: a 9,800-rpm quad-turbo V12, as much as 1,850 bhp and two very different interpretations of the same carbon architecture. The more meaningful message in Monterey will be the visible pace of development. Zenvo is arriving with two Tur validation prototypes, a distinct Agil show car and a program that is beginning to look, sound and move like the finished hypercar.
