The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering is bringing together more than 200 of the finest collector cars to Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California on August 13, 2021. The annual event focuses on showcasing the top pre- and post-war sports and racing vehicles from around the world during Monterey Car Week.
In addition to the luxury-lifestyle components of the annual motorsports celebration, guests will see several unique vehicles on display throughout the event field including the following:
- 1931 Duesenberg Derham Tourster
Designed by Gordon Buehring, this is one of eight built on the Model J Chassis with seven extant. It retains the original body, wooden-frame chassis, engine and all major components. It has had a single owner since 2001 and has toured across the country several times.
- 1937 Bugatti 57S Gangloff
This 1937 Bugatti 57S was originally built for Frenchman Andre Chauvenet and spent most of its life in Europe. The vehicle has been restored to its original configuration. It represents the ultimate pre-war supercar with a 200-horsepower supercharged engine and aerodynamic styling.
- 1967 Shelby American King Cobra Can-Am
This was Shelby American’s foray into the 1967 Can-Am series. Designed by Lyn Terry, who designed many great vehicles for Lotus Cars, the car features a unique crossover spring suspension.
- 1978 Lamborghini LP400 Countach Periscopio
One of 150 Periscopio cars, this Lamborghini was delivered new to Monaco Motors, the official Lamborghini dealer for Monte Carlo, on December 19, 1977. In 2014, the vehicle endured a complete nut-and-bolt restoration.

Guests will be treated to an elegant outdoor garden-party highlighted by five gourmet culinary pavilions, award-winning wine vendors and the Fireside Chat Series, which provides an opportunity to hear from a motorsport legend and industry luminary discussing the future of motorsports and the hobby of car collecting. Entrance also includes an invitation to attend the Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction which takes place concurrently. Hygiene and safety protocols will be in compliance with the most current local, county, state and federal guidelines at the time of the event.
