The 2021 The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering celebrated eccentric French cars in the “Automotive Couture, French Cars Featuring the 50th Anniversary of the Citroën SM” exhibit, and other automotive oddities on an international level in the “Cars of Curiosity” display. It also featured a talk with 2009 Formula One World Champion Jenson Button at the annual Fireside Chat, as well as several high-profile vehicle public debuts including the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 and the Lotus Emira.
“It’s such an honor to have been chosen from a group of amazing events around the world. To have our Sponsors, Participants and Guests back together in person this past August was deeply rewarding and we can’t wait to continue to take the event to the next level next year.” – Kai Lermen, General Manager of Quail Lodge & Golf Club
Now in its 11th year, the Historic Motoring Awards (HMA) recognize cars, events, people, museums, car collections, restoration shops and publications with the greatest representation of and passion for classic cars. Automotive industry leaders and the public nominate candidates for each category, and a panel of judges made up of prominent automotive personalities and experts choose the winners.
This year’s awards featured an all-star roster of judges including Bruce Meyer, Derek Bell and Jay Leno, who recognized The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering over other signature Concours events including Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, Salon Privé and Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance.
The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, will return to Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California on August 19, 2022 during Monterey Car Week. To learn more about the event, please visit our website and stay up to date about next year’s event details via our Facebook and Instagram pages.
