Gunther Werks has dropped a bombshell at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering—its first-ever Slantnose-inspired creation, Project F-26, a carbon-fiber, twin-turbocharged monster pushing 1,000 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque.
Drawing on the iconic Porsche 935 and Slantnose road cars, F-26 fuses heritage design with next-level engineering. Weighing just 2,700 lbs, the lightweight build is powered by an air-cooled, twin-turbo 4.0L flat-six, co-developed with Rothsport Racing, paired to a six-speed manual and limited-slip differential. A race-inspired flat fan ensures even cylinder cooling, while high-octane ethanol fueling and adaptive mapping deliver maximum punch.
The exterior is pure aggression: a carbon-fiber high-downforce wing, squared-off rear fenders with integrated intakes, and a dramatic fixed-light Slantnose front end that slices drag. A custom 935-style exhaust with external wastegates seals the deal with a ferocious soundtrack.
Underneath, the chassis packs double-wishbone suspension, adaptive JRZ dampers, motorsport-grade ABS, and advanced traction control. A stretched rear wheelbase enhances balance, while Turbo Twist magnesium monoblocks wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Force tires (295/30R18 front, 335/30R18 rear) keep it glued to the tarmac.
Inside, function meets finesse—exposed carbon, Alcantara, and leather surround a jet-inspired steering wheel and heritage-style wood shift knob. A Porsche Classic radio with Apple CarPlay bridges vintage charm and modern usability.
Only 26 examples of Project F-26 will be built—each a bespoke weapon for drivers who crave raw analog intensity with cutting-edge precision.
