GTO Engineering will be showing a half scale model of Squalo, its all-new, developed and built from the ground up driver’s car, to the public at Goodwood Revival from Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 September at its stand located ‘Over the Road’.
Goodwood Revival will be the first event where the public will be able to see the half scale model of Squalo. The Squalo, which continues to stay on schedule and progress through development, is GTO Engineering’s all-new bespoke vehicle, built from a clean sheet of paper, all from the company’s headquarters in Twyford, UK. Powered by a GTO Engineering developed and built quad-cam V12 engine (estimated to produce circa 460 bhp), paired with a manual gearbox and limited-slip differential, Squalo is inspired by the best of Sixties design blended with modern technical knowledge and materials; and with simplicity and engineering at its heart, it will weigh under 1,000 kg.
The half scale model on display at GTO Engineering’s stand has been used as a design tool to finalise both the scale, size and design surfaces of the Squalo. Visitors to GTO Engineering’s stand at Goodwood Revival will also be able to see the Squalo’s incorporated front lights that hold both the main beam and indicators, as well as speak to the team about advancements of Squalo’s quad-cam V12 engine and transaxle gearbox (housing a five-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential), the latter currently in development with Hewland.
Every element of the Squalo has been carefully designed and analysed by GTO Engineering to ensure that the quality of the car is nothing but of the highest calibre. Quality is the ethos for not only Squalo, but GTO Engineering as a company, and as such has driven the team to focus on simplicity and lightness. Using only the best materials for both the exterior and interior to fully maximise the driving experience and enjoyment for its customers, it will also assist Squalo’s sub-1,000 kg total weight target.
“We are thrilled to be able to showcase the first half scale model of Squalo at Goodwood Revival this year. It will be the first time the scale model has been displayed in public and we couldn’t think of a better event to showcase it at than at Goodwood Revival – it is one of, if not the best celebration of motoring in the world. We look forward to welcoming enthusiasts and fans of Squalo to our stand over the course of the Revival weekend to see it come to life.” – Mark Lyon, Founder and Managing Director of GTO Engineering
The team at GTO Engineering will be at Goodwood Revival across the three-day event.
