The first Ferrari – the 125 S – passed through the factory gates in Maranello, Italy, in the Spring of 1947, and seventy years later the company’s founding principles remain steadfastly unchanged, fueled by its passion for racing and defined by craftsmanship, exclusivity, innovation and excellence. To commemorate the Ferrari 70th Anniversary, Ferrari North America is hosting an unprecedented celebration for clients, collectors and fans alike at the 2017 Pebble Beach Automotive Week in Pebble Beach, California, from August 18-20.
“Throughout the world, Ferrari is celebrating its 70th Anniversary with its extended family, and the events at Pebble Beach® will be among our most spectacular,” says Enrico Galliera, Senior Vice President Marketing and Commercial, Ferrari S.p.A. “Pebble Beach is a very special place for Ferrari, and the deep historical resonance for the brand both at the Concours d’Elegance and the nearby Laguna Seca Raceway add further perspective to this significant milestone,” Galliera concludes.
At the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® on Sunday, August 20, Ferraris will grace the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links® in four Ferrari-exclusive classes to include Ferrari Major Race Winners, Ferrari One-OffSpeciales, Ferrari Grand Touring and Ferrari Competition. Concurrently, on the 1st fairway, the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Concours will exhibit 70 iconic automobiles – all certified by Ferrari Classiche – representing a unique lineage of cars from each of the seven decades of Ferrari’s history. The Concours, with a total approximate value of a half-billion US dollars, is officially sanctioned by the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, signaling the first time in history that two concours have shared the spotlight at the most prestigious motoring event in North America. Open to the public, the Concours can be previewed on Saturday, August 19, starting at 4pm as the Ferraris roll (and roar) onto the first fairway.
Three examples of Ferrari 70th Anniversary Liveries, as well as the penultimate modern Ferrari, the LaFerrari Aperta, will also be on display at the First Tee during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday.
Immediately following the Pebble Beach Automotive Week, Ferrari clients will depart for a week-long adventure along some of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world from Half Moon Bay to Napa Valley. Guests will have the quintessential Ferrari week featuring gorgeous, top-flight driving, and first-class hospitality with carefully curated experiences along the way.
Two additional 70″ Anniversary celebrations lay just ahead on September 9-10 in Maranello, Italy, and on October 6-8 in New York City.
