A 1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud supplied new to Prince Chula of Thailand is to be sold by international car auctioneers Coys at their Chiswick House sale in just over a weeks’ time. Prince Chula along with his cousin Prince Bira were motor sport aficionados and were well known and respected racers.
Prince Chula always favoured blue colours and this car is no exception. The cabin was designed to match the exterior with blue hide, piping and carpets as well as a champagne bar. The car estimated at £65,000-£85,000.

Also going under the hammer is, a TZ Alfa Romeo which was built by the legendary coachbuilder Giordanego. This rare Alfa Romeo has the original style fibreglass bodywork, a 2000cc twin sparks engine and is ready for the road. The car spent the last 40 years in the world regarded Milan telecommunications Museum and currently, estimates about £160,000.
A 1984 Ferrari 512 is one of just 42 produced with an exceptional BBi. It is presented with a rare metallic silver over a blue leather hide and a mere C.30,300 miles on the odometer. It is considered as the most liveable of Ferrari’s Berlinetta Boxer models and a jewel of any collection. It estimates about £200,000.
The auction includes a car from the early G-Wagon collection. The car was once owned by Mr. Stanley Kubrick shortly after his film ‘Full Metal Jacket’ debuted in the cinemas. A significant sum was spent to ensure the car is both mechanically and electrically sound during restoration. The current car estimate is £6000 – £8000.
A 1986 unique Aston Martin V8 vantage saloon from the European-specification series is also on offer. The Vantage has an improved high speed stability and front valance for superior cooling. The estimate is £40,000- £50,000. Additionally, the car also has a factory designed X-pack engine with 432 horsepower and was built with enhanced luxury to go along with speed.
A 1937 Rolls Royce Sedance De Ville is also up for sale. The chassis ‘GXM 25’ was bodied by Gurney Nutting in the Sedance De Ville design. The Rolls Royce is believed to have only three previous custodians, one of which owned the car as a part of a Rolls-Royce collection in Kent, which twenty or so other examples from the marquee. Finished in deep blue over black, with grey leather interior piped in blue, this example has the wonderful Sedanca canvas top, unfurling from the hidden compartment in the front of the roof. It estimates about £130,000.
Maserati Indy 4.7 America first appeared on Vignale’s stand at the 1968 Turin motor show and was officially launched by Maserati at the Geneva Salon in1969. Autocar magazine reported at the time said, ‘Classic touring car with V8 engine and 160mph potential. Beautifully smooth power unit, silky gear box and light, power assisted steering. Good brakes, balanced handling, comfortable ride, superb stability.’
This wonderful UK delivered right hand drive Indy underwent an extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration during 2014/2016. Showing approximately 50,000 miles on the odometer and having stored in private garage during its current ownership, this Indy presents in very good condition throughout. Equal of the contemporary Ferrari 365Gt 2+2 in both looks and performance, the Maserati Indy remains relatively under appreciated. It presented with current MOT and UK V5C and estimates about £50,000.
