Trick Rides has just redefined what a resto-mod can be. The performance-obsessed builders revealed “Scorched,” the world’s first fully carbon-fiber 1969 Mustang widebody. Only 20 examples will be built, each engineered entirely in CAD and dialed in with advanced 3D-scanning tech for aerospace-grade accuracy. The first completed car will break cover this November at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, inside TMI’s Central Hall booth (#24477).

Born from Carbon, Built for Speed

Instead of steel, every panel of Scorched is pre-preg carbon fiber, shaving weight while boosting rigidity and aerodynamic performance. The result: a leaner, meaner take on one of the most celebrated muscle cars of all time. Trick Rides’ meticulous execution means precise fitment, enhanced structural integrity, and a menacing widebody stance that looks ready to dominate both street and track.

Inside the Carbon Beast

In partnership with TMI Products, Scorched sports an interior that’s as refined as its exterior is raw. The cockpit includes all-new high-back seats, German square-weave carpet, Alcantara headliner, custom panels, and a hand-built console—every detail proudly crafted in the USA.

Power Options That Demand Respect

Buyers get to pick from three brutal engine setups:

  • VMP-supercharged 5.0L Coyote V8
  • 429ci Kaase “Boss Nine”
  • Ford Performance 427ci V8

Each powerplant pairs with a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual, breathing through Stainless Works headers and MagnaFlow mufflers for that unmistakable muscle growl.

Track-Grade Underpinnings

Beneath the skin lies a Roadster Shop chassis, Fox coilover-equipped independent front suspension, parallel four-link rear, and oversized sway bars. Stopping power comes from custom six-piston Baer brakes, while Forgeline three-piece wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Force tires keep this beast glued to the asphalt.

A New Era of Resto-Mods

“Our latest creation, ‘Scorched,’ represents a new era in muscle car engineering and design,” said Jason Engel, founder of Trick Rides. “Our goal was to push the boundaries of what a resto-mod could be by adding modern twists to a timeless classic. The result showcases what is possible when modern engineering meets iconic heritage, and I’m beyond excited to debut the completed vehicle with TMI at SEMA.”

With only 20 units being built, Scorched is destined to become one of the rarest and most radical Mustangs ever conceived—a true fusion of old-school soul and cutting-edge technology.
