Showdown time! Porsche GT3 RS vs GT2 RS with lap times on track at Exotics Racing to see how they stack up! With a time at the top of the board from Charles Leclerc, how close can I get? Let’s find out…
Exotics Racing in Las Vegas have a huge line-up of cars to choose from, and the new 991.2 GT2 RS and GT3 RS comparison is something that’s always intrigued me. What better than an opportunity then to put both cars side by side in the same conditions with lap timing to see the differences in performance first hand. And while at it, to have the opportunity to put in some times up against many big names on the Hall of Fame board in the Michelin Time Trial; Charles Leclerc, Eli Tomac, Mariod Andretti, Gordon Ramsey, Caitlyn Jenner, Karim Benzema, Jay Leno and more.
First out on track in the GT3 RS with @doreenseidel it’s a feel for what we’re up to and what the new Michelin Cup 2 R tires can do. Then the swap comes over to the GT2 RS to feel the extra power and set about some seriously quick laps. With Leclerc setting the track’s fastest lap in a *cough* 488 of 48.96 that’s my time to try and chase – although admittedly in much hotter conditions during summer and also on the non-R tire.
