O’Gara Coach, the world’s largest and most prestigious dealer group, based in Beverly Hills and specializing in the extended automotive luxury lifestyle sector, provided an experience in modern luxury coachbuilding with Lanzante at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Back for a second year, the O’Gara Pavilion featured four custom builds by British coachbuilder Lanzante. Guests at the Quail were the first to behold a unique Porsche 930 TAG Turbo art car with a special connection to motorsport history. It was joined by three contemporary supercars that showcase Lanzante’s ability to take the world’s most exceptional vehicles and transform them in ways that further expand their legendary stories: the Mclaren 765 LT LM25 Spider, McLaren P1 HDK, and McLaren P1 GTR-18.

930 TAG Turbo, SJ87
In the mid-1980s Porsche was contracted to develop the TAG Turbo engine for McLaren for use in Formula 1. During the development of that engine, Porsche used a 930 Turbo as a test mule that is still owned by McLaren today. Lanzante was able to acquire 14 TAG Turbo engines from McLaren, as well as permission to recreate a unique tribute to that test mule, but with a modern approach in terms of drivability and quality, while retaining all the original character from the mule vehicle.
The Porsche 930 TAG Turbo by Lanzante has been completely re-engineered, using a Porsche 930 Turbo donor, it features bespoke carbon body panels including the hood, front and rear bumpers, lower splitter and rear wing. Some of the modern performance upgrades include carbon ceramic brakes, Öhlins suspension, Cosworth ECU, LED lights, Recaro seats and a bespoke Raychem F1 wiring loom.
As if these cars aren’t special enough, this particular car is truly a 1 of 1. The engine in this vehicle was driven by Stefan Johansson in the back of his McLaren MP4/3 at the Austrian Grand Prix in 1987. After retiring from racing Stefan focused on his passion for painting and creating works of art and this car is his latest creation. Stefan designed and hand painted the livery on this vehicle, using the colors from his helmet that he wore when piloting his MP4/3 in 1987.

P1 GTR-18
After two extremely successful seasons in 1995 and 1996, the McLaren F1 GTR had to be upgraded to remain competitive with the new rule changes in 1997. The most noticeable upgrade being the new elongated bodywork and that is when the “Longtail” moniker was born.
The Lanzante P1 GTR-18 is an homage to the original F1 GTR-97 ‘Longtail’ and has many of the same performance enhancements and styling cues including larger roof scoop, larger front splitter, revised rear wing and pylons, louvered front fenders, and of course, longer bodywork.
Inside, the same theme continues with a stripped-out racing interior with F1 GTR interior elements, lightweight side windows, fabric door pulls, and the same lightweight carbon seats found in the F1 GTR. The suspension is upgraded to handle the additional aero, which now offers the same levels of downforce as the Lanzante P1 LM.
The car displayed at the O’GARA Pavilion was the first in a series of six P1 GTR-18s to be produced. Each of the GTR-18s will be a true “one of one” as each will be finished in a different racing livery from the F1 GTR-97 era, with P1 GTR-18 01 in arguably the most famous and iconic livery, the Gulf Davidoff livery.

LM25 765LT Spider
The LM25 series was built as a tribute to the iconic Ueno Clinic F1 GTR run by Lanzante that won the Le Mans 24hrs in 1995. The LM25 series is limited to only 7 examples, with each one being a different lightweight track-focused McLaren and each one finished in the iconic two-tone Ueno Grey paintwork with dark grey upper body with light grey lower accents mirroring the original race livery.
To save weight, each model features their own bespoke 5-spoke carbon wheels, which offer a 15 lbs reduction over the standard wheels. On the interior, ultra-lightweight F1 GTR seats are fitted reducing weight by a further 37 lbs.
In addition to the lightweight options, all the models will include detailing such as extended carbon door sills with the Ueno Clinic logos, gold anodized interior switches and pedals, 24k gold heat shielding and ceramic exhaust tips, carbon fibre floors mats, dedication plaque, gold brake calipers with red McLaren lettering reminiscent of the original Brembo brakes on the F1 GTR, engine cover with ‘LM25’ edition logo, as well as a Le Mans style race scrutineering sticker on the bulkhead matching the one found on the historic winning F1 GTR.
The Lanzante LM25 Project is officially certified by Automobile Club De L’Ouest (ACO) as organizers of the Le Mans 24hrs race.
The LM25 displayed at the O’GARA Pavilion is based on the 765LT Spider. The other 6 models in the series are 600LT Spider, 620R, Senna, P1 GTR, Senna GTR, and P1 HDK

P1 HDK
The High Downforce Kit (HDK) was an upgrade offered to McLaren F1 owners who wanted to have the visual style of the F1 GTR and LM models along with the additional high-speed downforce. The kit gave the visual styling of the GTR race car (like the LM) but with a road car interior and mechanicals. The HDK kit was originally offered as an option during the original production process, alternatively, owners could send their vehicle to the factory to have the kit installed afterwards. Many of the HDK kits installed also involved a complete color change and re-trim of the cars interior, giving it an entirely new look.
With the P1 HDK, Lanzante has made available the same bespoke service by taking a standard P1 road car and upgrading all of the bodywork to its more aggressive-looking track-only counterpart, the P1 GTR. Customers are limited to only their imagination when it comes to the specification and can select any exterior and interior color scheme, along with a number of bespoke details on the car including custom badging, calipers, pedals, interior switch gear, and exterior carbon. Some clients have even decided to pay homage to one of the 9 original F1 HDKs produced and match the design of their car to one of the original F1 HDK color schemes. For those wanting a boost in performance (not that the P1 needs it) customers can opt to do the 4.0L engine upgrade, pushing the cars total power output to 1000 horsepower.
The car displayed at the O’GARA Pavilion is the second HDK produced and is the first car to take full advantage of the HDK program’s bespoke capabilities. The car is finished in Verde Ermes, a color from Lamborghini and the inside is Cuoio Alcantara from Ferrari with Daytona-style inserts (a common option on F1 HDK). Other special details include bespoke carbon wheels, 24K gold electroform badges on a carbon fibre background, and ghosted Lanzante logo on the carbon side blade. This car made its debut at The Qual in 2021 and won the Art Center Design Award and has become arguably the most famous P1 on social media.
