Lyon Air Museum, a world class showcase of historic aircraft and vintage automobiles, to host special exhibit, “Summer of Porsche.” Over a dozen iconic examples of the legendary German automobile manufacturer, recognized around the world.
Among the cars showcased during the special exhibit will be early racing cars such as the highly successful Porsche 550 Spyder. The Spyder displayed is similar to the car driven by famed actor James Dean, when in 1955 at the age of 24 tragically died in an automobile accident while on his way to a race in Salinas, California. More modern racing cars are also represented, such as the notorious March Porsche Indy Car, Chassis number 1, driven by Indy 500 veteran Teo Fabi during the 1988 racing season.
