Hispano Suiza will participate in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the most important automotive events in the world, which will take place between June 23 and 26. The Spanish brand will be in Goodwood (West Sussex, England) with the Carmen, the 750kW electric hypercar which heralded Hispano Suiza´s return to the automotive world in 2019.
The Carmen will be on display in the exclusive Michelin Supercar Paddock, where the most advanced and powerful vehicles in the world will be showcased. In addition, it will participate in the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb. Luis Pérez-Sala, Hispano Suiza Brand Ambassador and former Formula 1 driver, will be at the wheel and will drive along the 1.86 kilometers to the finish line in front of some 100,000 attendees.
For Pérez-Sala “it will be an honor to drive the Hispano Suiza Carmen in its debut at Goodwood. I am excited to participate for the first time in this truly special event. I am sure that the public will appreciate the original design of the Carmen and, of course, I will enjoy the performance of the car on this hill climb.”
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most important events in the automobile industry and a place of pilgrimage for automotive enthusiasts. This year’s edition puts the focus on technology under the slogan ‘The pioneers: master minds of motorsport’. Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza, explains that “we had planned to participate in the 2020 edition, but the pandemic cut short our plans. This year we will be present, and the theme fits perfectly with our DNA. Both the Carmen and the Carmen Boulogne have been developed by engineers with decades of experience in the world of motorsport, and incorporate technologies that derive directly from Formula E”, concludes Campos.
