Based off of the racing D-type, the Jaguar XKSS embodies the racing prestige and looks of the famed Le Man’s winning vehicle. Living up to its older brother, the XKSS boasted a 3.4 L straight-six producing 250 hp complete with disc brakes on all four wheels. In order to make this vehicle ready for road use, Jaguar went through extensive lengths in adaptations such as weatherproof windows, a convertible top, a luggage rack, and an updated interior.
Steve McQueen added his own touches to this Jaguar XKSS as he had famed artist Von Dutch create the glovebox door, and Hot Rod legend Tony Nancy upholster the interior. Though it is missing factory paint and a bone stock interior, this vehicle is still held in high regard because of the actor who owned it, and the fact that there are only 16 in existence.
