The virtually new 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia featured here is finished in classic and desired Rosso Corsa over a Cuoio Naturale leather interior. This 458 Italia was manufactured in February 2013 and delivered new to Ferrari of Newport Beach, California on April 9, 2017. This original California car has been meticulously maintained and driven a mere 2,800 miles from new. Custom ordered with many desirable and unique features make this 458 Italia the perfect example to add to any premier collection. We are proud to offer this like-new 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia to the most particular investor, collector or enthusiast who demands nothing but the best!!
The 458 Italia is a mid-engine sports car, heir to Maranello’s rear mid-mounted V-8 engine crown, and debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 458 Italia’s performance was as serious as its Frankfurt Messe underpinnings, and yet its dramatic design was nothing short of Italian.
Under a glass panel behind the passenger compartment sat an upgraded version of the F136 V-8 that had debuted in the car’s F430 predecessor. With direct injection now fitted for the first time in a mid-engined car with the prancing horse affixed to its nose, the engine was rated at a compelling 562 horsepower in its initial guise. A rapid-shifting seven-speed Getrag dual-clutch transmission hurtled power to the rear wheels. Remarkably, the 458 was the first mid-engine Ferrari not designed for a manual transmission, a clear step into a new direction for Ferrari. The gearbox was shared with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, though the two automakers worked with Getrag for bespoke tuning.
In keeping with Ferrari tradition, the body was designed by Pininfarina under the leadership of Donato Coco, the Ferrari design director during 2009.
The interior design of the 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia was done by Bertrand Rapatel (Director of Ferrari Interior Design), a French automobile designer.
The car’s exterior styling and features were designed for aerodynamic efficiency, producing a downforce of 140 kg (309 lb) at 200 km/h (120 mph). In particular, the front grille features deformable winglets that lower at high speeds, in order to offer reduced drag. The car’s interior was designed using input from former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher; in a layout common to racing cars, the new steering wheel incorporates many controls normally located on the dashboard or on stalks, such as turning signals or high beams.
According to British car magazine Autocar, the 458 Italia’s design has drawn inspiration from the Enzo Ferrari and its Millechili concept car. It has been designed to be Ferrari’s sportiest V8-engined car, to distinguish itself from the entry-level California.
