Vehicle Description

1932 Ford Highboy Roadster, Spice red with cognac leather, black canvas Bop Top by Sid Chavers.  Commissioned, conceived and designed in 2005 by the Ridler Award winning shop, Steve’s Auto Restorations of Portland, OR for a client in Southern California.  The design inspiration came from the mighty pre-war European racers (Blower Bentley, Alfa-Romeo Monza and the Bugatti Type 35) and details from Indy 500 racers and Bonneville Salt Flat cars of the period.  Details abound from these giants of motorsport and makes this “Duece” the perfect fit in a Euro-centric car collection.  Featured on the cover of Ken Gross’s book, “Art of the Hot Rod” and outlines builder Steve Frisbie of SAR.  The steel Roadster features a blown small-block Chevy mated to an automatic transmission, Halibrand quick change rear diff, aero-style Buick finned drum brakes and super cool Ron Blondel magnesium Indy 500 wheels!  The Bomber style seats, doors and most of its interior are covered in distressed Spinneybeck leather and contrasted with German square weave carpeting.  Pictures do not do this car justice and the level of craftsmanship, details and execution are second to none.  Many of the top tier collectors in the world have a ’32 represented in their collections as a nod to the timeless design, unlimited hot-rod potential and importance to USA car culture.  To have a World Class shop build you a ’32 takes years and hundreds of thousands dollars, this one is done and ready for you.  (*true mileage unknown, driven about 50 miles in past 10 years)
