L’ASTAROSSA™, the Ferrari-only auction by Monaco Car Auctions, is to return to the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco for its second edition on Saturday 8th June. The highly exclusive auction, held in conjunction with the renowned Monegasque car and luxury lifestyle event, Top Marques, will once again focus on many of Ferrari’s most desirable automobiles.

Founded by passionate car enthusiast, Laurent Blomet, Monaco Car Auctions is the only collector car and automobilia auction house based in the Principality and is fully accredited by the Princely Government. Every Monaco Car Auctions sale is thematic, with the consigned lots carefully curated to deliver a holistic auction experience.

Speaking in anticipation of the second L’ASTAROSSA™ sale, Laurent Blomet, Founder and CEO of Monaco Car Auctions, said: “Last year we laid the foundations to grow Monaco Car Auctions into a major player within the collectable car auction landscape. Our debut sale was a momentous achievement for all involved and proved our ability to secure market-leading results, while also offering something new with a Ferrari-exclusive catalogue”.

“We’re excited to be back for a sale containing some truly remarkable cars from Ferrari’s lineage. I encourage collectors and enthusiasts alike to stay up to date with our forthcoming consignment announcements in the weeks to come.”

L’ASTAROSSA™ 2024 builds upon the success of Monaco Car Auction’s inaugural sale in June of last year, which saw more than 40 outstanding Ferraris cross the auction block. The event was headlined by two-time Formula One World Champion, Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari Enzo, which reached €5.4 million after the conclusion of the event. In addition to the significant provenance afforded by its racing driver owner, the icon of performance motoring was also prized for being “Scocca n.1” – the first example built by the Maranello factory. Auction attendees were also treated to a special video message from Alonso himself, which saw him reflect on his time owning the vehicle and ask the lucky buyer to “enjoy it”.

Other highlights from the 2023 auction included a record-breaking alloy-bodied Ferrari 250 GT Boano, which competed at the 1956 Nassau Governor’s Trophy in the hands of prominent customer racer, Jan de Vroom. The Pininfarina-designed, Carrozzeria Boano-built Ferrari made €1,512,000. A Ferrari 599 GTO made €784,000. One of the other notable sales was of a Ferrari 348 GTS, which achieved an impressive €156,800. The auction also raised €6,944 for the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation through the sale of a replica Charles Leclerc 2023 Monaco Grand Prix race helmet, signed by the driver.
