My friend, Fabian has transformed his 2020 Toyota GR Supra into a track project car perfectly suited for the Nürburgring Nordschleife! Let’s check out the changes including a power jump to 560hp thanks to new turbo, downpipe, ECU plus also new wheels, suspension, brakes and a setup suited to the Green Hell. After a lap in the passenger seat, he lets me take the wheel for a run to see what it’s like.

The Nurburgring is famed for really testing cars, so what’s better than building one suited for the purpose. Fabian has done exactly that with the new Toyota GR Supra, raising the power by over 200hp to 560hp (from 340hp) and torque up from 500nm to 730nm. That increase comes from a new turbo and downpipe, along with the tune which is running for the first time during our laps. Additionally it’s wearing new lightweight wheels, Nankang semi-slick tyres, AP Racing brakes and a full suspension setup to be at home on the bumpy circuit.

With the weather quickly closing in, a lap of Touristenfahrten beckons initially with Fabian taking the wheel to show and get a feel for the power increase, additional grip and feel over the Nurburgring’s surface. With the rain still holding back, I take the wheel for lap 2 to experience it myself and the comparison with my stock Supra from previous sessions on the track.
